LUCKNOW: Just weeks after publicly announcing that their marital dispute had been resolved, Prateek Yadav and BJP leader Aparna Yadav appeared together on a family vacation in Iceland, with photographs from the March trip now surfacing after Prateek’s sudden death in Lucknow at the age of 38.The pictures, shared by Aparna Yadav on Instagram on March 19, showed the couple spending time together with their daughters during the overseas holiday. Aparna shared around five photographs from the trip and captioned the post: “Blue lagoon with my doll.pic credit to dear Prathama bitiya #iceland @iamprateekyadav.”The family trip has now become one of the final public glimpses of the couple, along with their daughters, together before Prateek Yadav’s untimely death.

The dispute had erupted in January after Prateek Yadav posted a lengthy message on Instagram accusing Aparna of damaging his relationship with his family and prioritising fame and influence over personal life. In the post, he had described her as a “family destroyer” and said he was planning to seek a divorce “as soon as possible”.“I am going to divorce this selfish woman as soon as possible. She ruined my family ties. All she wants to do is become famous and influential,” Prateek had written, while also speaking about his mental health struggles. The posts triggered widespread speculation and intense discussion on social media and in political circles, especially because Aparna Yadav had emerged as a prominent BJP face after leaving the Samajwadi Party. However, within days, Prateek publicly announced that the differences had been resolved. On January 28, he posted a video saying the matter had been settled mutually after discussions between the two.“On January 19, I had a serious dispute with my wife Aparna, following which I made two posts on social media. However, the matter has now been resolved mutually after discussions, and there is no longer any dispute between us,” he had said in the video. He had also posted another video featuring Aparna and added the caption: “Haters, go to hell.”The Iceland trip in March appeared to reinforce the message of reconciliation, with the couple sharing family moments abroad months before Prateek Yadav’s sudden demise.Prateek, the son of late Mulayam Singh Yadav and half-brother of Akhilesh Yadav, largely stayed away from active politics and focused on fitness, business ventures and animal welfare activities. Aparna Yadav, meanwhile, currently serves as vice-chairperson of the Uttar Pradesh State Women’s Commission after joining the BJP in 2022.
