Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh social welfare minister Asim Arun on Monday highlighted expanding opportunities in the healthcare sector while addressing hundreds of nursing students at Bhagidari Bhawan in Gomtinagar during a two-day annual conclave.The event, held on Monday and Tuesday, marked International Nurses Day, observed on May 12. Students took an oath during the programme, reaffirming their commitment to the profession. Arun praised nurses and other health workers for their vital contribution, especially the work they do behind the scenes, and lauded their dedication before the gathering.Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana also addressed the students virtually. He urged them to serve with compassion and dedication while on duty and said the state govt was continuously working to strengthen the healthcare system.Mahana told the students that significant opportunities would be available to them as they prepared to enter the field.Director of Lucknow Metro Institute Dr Fahad Islahi also spoke to students from his institute and encouraged them to study the life and work of Florence Nightingale. He asked them to draw inspiration from her legacy as they progressed through their professional journey in nursing and healthcare service.
