Lucknow: Three people were booked in Bahraich for allegedly luring a minor girl, subjecting her to mental and physical exploitation, and pressuring her for religious conversion, police said.According to the FIR filed on the complaint of the girl’s father, the accused enticed his 15-year-old daughter and later blackmailed her by uploading her objectionable photographs and videos on social media. He said that the accused also conspired to force the girl to convert.The girl’s father alleged that when he finalised his daughter’s marriage elsewhere, the accused disrupted his plans. Two days prior to the filing of the complaint, the accused allegedly threatened the groom’s family, warning them that if the wedding procession arrived, they would be shot dead.Inspector-in-charge Santosh Kumar Singh said that following the written complaint from the girl’s father, an FIR was lodged against three people, all residents of Basahiya Jagat village.“An investigation has been launched, and police teams are conducting raids to nab the accused,” Singh said.
