Political heat over cancellation of NEET is likely to rise with a parliamentary committee headed by Congress’s Digvijaya Singh asking NTA chairperson and higher education secretary to appear before the panel on May 21, as it seeks an update on the probe into the leak of question papers of the exam and the K Radhakrishnan committee report on NTA reforms.Meanwhile, Congress’s RS MP Jairam Ramesh submitted a privilege notice against education minister Dharmendra Pradhan for allegedly “lowering the dignity of Parliament and Parliamentary committees” with his remarks made in response to a question on the issue of NEET-UG 2026 paper leak.
