South East Central Railway (SECR), Nagpur Division and Workshop Motibagh have invited online applications for engagement of Act Apprentices under the Apprentices Act 1961 and Apprenticeship Rules 1992. The recruitment drive for the 2026-27 session offers 1079 apprenticeship positions across different trades in the Nagpur Division and Motibagh Workshop.The notification was released on May 19, 2026 and the online application process began on the same day. Candidates can submit applications through the official apprenticeship portal until June 18, 2026. The training period for selected candidates will be one year, and applications will be accepted only in online mode.Eligibility and vacancy detailsCandidates applying for the apprentice posts must be between 15 and 24 years of age as on May 19, 2026. Age relaxation will be provided according to existing government rules. Applicants must have passed Class 10 with at least 50 per cent aggregate marks and should possess an ITI qualification in the relevant trade.SECR has announced a total of 1079 apprentice slots under the recruitment process. Candidates will be required to select either Nagpur Division or Motibagh Workshop while filling the application form. Railway authorities have advised applicants to enter matriculation and ITI marks carefully before final submission.Selection process and application procedureSelection will be based on a merit list prepared using marks obtained in matriculation and ITI examinations in the relevant trade. Only candidates securing a minimum of 50 per cent aggregate marks in matriculation along with the prescribed ITI qualification will be considered for preparation of the merit list.In cases where two candidates secure identical marks, preference will be given to the older applicant. If the age is also the same, the candidate who passed matriculation earlier will receive preference. Applicants can complete the registration process through apprenticeshipindia.gov.in before the closing deadline on June 18, 2026.According to the recruitment notification, the apprenticeship engagement will be conducted under provisions of the Apprentices Act and related apprenticeship rules. The official portal will host the complete application process, including submission of educational details and trade selection. Candidates seeking apprenticeship training in railway establishments under SECR have been instructed to complete and submit their forms before the prescribed deadline to avoid last-minute technical difficulties during registration procedures.
