Lucknow: Managing director of Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation, Nitish Kumar, on Tuesday directed discoms across the state to ensure uninterrupted power supply in line with scheduled rosters amid the ongoing severe heatwave.Reviewing the performance of power distribution utilities, Kumar emphasised the need for heightened vigilance by officials to maintain stability in electricity supply during peak summer demand.“With rising temperatures, it is crucial to ensure that all areas receive power without disruption,” he said.The MD directed senior officers to closely monitor power supply systems and ensure immediate replacement of damaged transformers within stipulated timelines. He stressed that restoration work should be carried out in the shortest possible time to avoid inconvenience to consumers.Taking note of delays in project execution, he sought explanations from officials in Muzaffarnagar and Amausi (Lucknow) zones.He also directed regular monitoring of the ‘Jhatpat’ portal to ensure no applications remain pending.
