Lucknow: State’s industrial development minister Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi on Tuesday directed officials to take strict action against defaulting builders and fast-track resolution of builder-buyer disputes in Noida, while also flagging alleged irregularities in project allotments and civic contracts.Reviewing progress of various projects under the Noida Industrial Development Authority, Nandi said stalled housing projects and pending flat registrations should be resolved on priority. Referring to the Amitabh Kant Committee recommendations, officials informed the minister that 57 projects had come under the policy framework, with 36 builders depositing 25% of the required amount, while six had failed to make any payment.Expressing concern over homebuyers’ hardships, Nandi said many families continued to live in rented accommodation despite investing their savings in flats. He directed authorities to initiate action against builders including Sunshine Infra, Mahagun, Antariksh Developers and Perfect Asotech. The minister also sought a report on allotments made through single bids and questioned why one firm had allegedly continued to receive water supply and toilet maintenance contracts for several years. He ordered an inquiry into past tenders and said firms found guilty of irregularities should be blacklisted.Nandi further directed officials to clear the backlog of 5% plot allotments within three months and intensify action against illegal encroachments and unauthorised construction in Noida. He also asked authorities to improve sanitation, greenery and beautification across the city’s 168 sectors.
