Lucknow: The UP govt has sought feedback from various departments on projects planned under the proposed UP State Capital Region (UPSCR), which will integrate six districts, including Lucknow, for regional development.The directions were issued during a meeting chaired by chief secretary SP Goyal at Lok Bhawan on Wednesday. Senior officials from various departments attended the meeting.Lucknow Development Authority vice-chairman Prathamesh Kumar said the proposed region will include Lucknow, Sitapur, Unnao, Hardoi, Barabanki and Raebareli, covering nearly 26,000 sqkm. A GIS-based regional master plan is being prepared for the project.He added that 29 projects have been identified in areas such as transport, infrastructure, economy and tourism. Major proposals include the ‘Rajya Rajdhani Mala’ regional road network, an elevated peripheral road and road upgradation works to improve connectivity among the six districts.Plans for a Transportnagar, orbital rail corridor and Metro network have also been proposed. To boost economic activity, projects related to industrial development, logistics parks, food parks and corridor-based development along the Lucknow-Kanpur expressway have been identified.During the meeting, the chief secretary asked departments concerned to submit their views on the proposed projects so that detailed plans for implementation could be prepared.
