Lucknow: UP BJP chief Pankaj Chaudhary on Wednesday launched a sharp attack on Congress’s Rahul Gandhi, accusing him and the opposition of insulting patriotic institutions and questioning the integrity of nationalist organisations such as the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.Chaudhary’s retort came hours after Rahul termed Prime Minister Narendra Modi, home minister Amit Shah and the RSS “traitors” who were “attacking the Constitution every day” and have “sold” the country’s interests to select industrialists. The Raebareli MP’s strong denunciation came on the second day of his visit to his constituency. He was addressing a ‘Bahujan Swabhiman Sabha’ in Raebareli, commemorating local revolutionary Veera Pasi.Chaudhary alleged that the “ringleaders of the Tukde-Tukde Gang” were branding true patriots as traitors. Referring to past political controversies, he said those who once sought proof of the Indian Army’s surgical strikes were now attempting to cast aspersions on the RSS, which he described as “an enduring symbol of patriotism and sacrifice.”The BJP functionary also accused the Congress and opposition parties of supporting “anti-national forces” in the past. “Treachery was when courts were opened at midnight to support anti-national elements. Treachery was when relations were maintained with separatists like Yasin Malik. Treachery was when India and its armed forces were insulted on international platforms,” he posted on X.Praising PM Modi and home minister Shah, Chaudhary said India was moving towards becoming a “secure, empowered and self-reliant nation” under their guidance. He further alleged that opposition parties, sensing a decline in their political relevance, were trying to malign nationalist organisations and the country’s security forces for political gains. “The nation is watching everything, and the people will respond appropriately,” Chaudhary asserted. He said that in international diplomacy, friendship, trust and personal relationships play a significant role. However, the Congress party has consistently sought to undermine India’s global image. “Gandhi must recognise that India’s standing on the world stage has never been as elevated as it is today,” he said.Chaudhary said that it was ludicrous for Rahul to speak of an economic crisis in the country. He said when the Congress was running the govt, the nation was grappling with corruption, scandals, policy paralysis and economic instability. “Today, under PM Modi, India is rapidly advancing towards becoming the world’s fourth-largest economy,” he said.
