Lucknow: UP has recorded significant response to online self-enumeration process for Census 2027, with nearly 47 lakh residents completing the exercise through digital portal between May 7 and May 21. Notably, the state had around five crore households during the last census.According to official data released till 5.30 pm on Thursday, a total of 46,93,783 self-enumerations were completed across the state during the housing listing operation (HLO) phase of the census.Among districts, Shahjahanpur emerged top performer with 2,96,232 completed self-enumerations, followed by Azamgarh with 2,78,134 and Bareilly with 2,71,978. Moradabad and Sonbhadra too figured among top-performing districts, recording 2,32,393 and 1,61,174 completed self-enumeration, respectively. State capital Lucknow registered 98,331 completed self-enumerations.At the other end, Kaushambi recorded lowest participation with 13,666 completed self-enumerations. Other districts reporting low numbers included Auraiya with 15,423, Hamirpur with 15,595, Sant Kabir Nagar with 16,155, and Jalaun with 17,068. From Friday, the physical HOL will begin and continue till Jun 20 in UP. Around 5.5 lakh personnel will execute the exercise.
