Lucknow: Amid intense heatwave sweeping Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow district magistrate Vishak G declared summer vacation in all schools across educational boards from May 22. The administration noted that several schools were still operating despite extreme temperatures, raising concerns over students’ health and safety. Acting on weather department warnings, the district administration ordered immediate closure of schools and directed strict compliance. The order applies to all board-affiliated institutions in Lucknow district. Authorities said the decision was taken to protect children from heat-related illnesses amid severe weather conditions in the region.
