Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Madrassa Education Board on Saturday declared results of the Munshi/Maulvi (Secondary) and Alim (Senior Secondary) examinations for 2026. Overall pass percentage this year was 88.26%, with girls once again outperforming boys across all levels.Out of 80,933 registered candidates, 63,211 students appeared for the examinations and a total of 55,788 were declared successful. The board reported that 29,229 girl students passed with an impressive 94.3% success rate, compared to 26,559 boys who achieved an 85.13% pass rate.In Secondary (Munshi-Maulvi) exam, 62,232 students were registered and 47,036 appeared. Of these, 41,426 candidates passed, resulting in an overall pass percentage of 88.07. Girls demonstrated strong performance with a 91.46% success rate, as 21,407 passed the exam. Meanwhile, 20,019 boys qualified, marking an 84.72% pass rate.Senior secondary (Alim) examination also recorded positive outcomes. Out of 18,701 registered candidates, 16,175 appeared, and 14,362 secured passing marks. The overall pass percentage at this level stood at 88.79. Among them, 7,822 girl students passed with a notable 90.88% result, while 6,540 boys cleared the exam with an 86.42% success rate.Cabinet minister for minority welfare, Muslim waqf and Haj, Om Prakash Rajbhar, who declared the results, stated that govt continues to work under the policy of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, and Sabka Prayas’. He added that the vision of the leadership strengthened confidence among minority communities and reinforced efforts to modernise madrassa education.
