After extending the deadline on May 20, 2026 till May 23, National Testing Agency (NTA) has again extended the deadline till today for the UGC NET aspirants.In a X post, the NTA wrote, “Good news for UGC-NET June 2026 aspirants! NTA has extended the last date for application submission — responding to requests from students across the country.”Deadline extended till todayAuthorities have extended key application deadlines till May 24, 11:50 PM. The revised schedule allows applicants additional time to submit their forms and complete the fee payment process online.Students can apply here ugcnet.nta.nic.inOfficials have, however, clarified that no further extension will be granted after the deadline expires.The correction window for submitted applications will remain open from May 26 to May 28 till 11:50 PM, enabling candidates to edit permitted details in their forms.Applicants have been advised to carefully review all information before final submission to avoid discrepancies during the examination or admission process.What’s the fee structure? Candidates belonging to the General category are required to pay Rs 1,150 as examination fee.The fee for OBC and EWS candidates is Rs 600, while SC, ST and PwD candidates are required to pay Rs 325.The UGC NET examination remains one of India’s most significant national-level eligibility tests. It determines eligibility for the award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), appointment as Assistant Professor, admission to PhD programmes, and PhD-only admissions in universities and colleges across the country.
