Lucknow: Dr Shakuntala Misra National Rehabilitation University will establish a department of physical education and introduce three new professional programmes in the 2026-27 session.“The university is set to launch the Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP). Under this, the new programmes — BA-BEd, BSc-BEd and BCom-BEd — have been approved. These courses combine two degrees into a single four-year course, saving an academic year for students,” said DSMNRU spokesperson Yashwant Virodai.Virodai added that the department of physical education will allow the university to introduce specialised programmes such as BPEd and MPEd, expanding opportunities in sports education, fitness and related professional fields.
