Among those who received them were US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor, District Collector Anupama Jorwal, Superintendent of Police Abhishek Shivhare, and officials from the police, administration and tourism departments. In the evening, the couple toured the Sonar Fort in a golf cart and visited the fort museum, where they were introduced to the rich art, culture and history of the region.Local heritage expert Vijay Ballani briefed them on the historical significance, architecture and cultural legacy of the fort, officials said.Special arrangements have been made for their stay at a luxury hotel on Sam Road, with multi-layered security deployed across the city. Personnel from local police, Indian security agencies and the US Secret Service are part of the security detail. The visit has kept the district administration and security agencies on high alert. Given Jaisalmer’s proximity to the India-Pakistan border and the movement of a high-profile foreign guest, enhanced security measures have been put in place at major tourist attractions and other key locations across the city. Strict security arrangements were also maintained during the fort visit, while media access remained restricted inside the premises.During their stay, the couple is expected to visit several of Jaisalmer’s prominent tourist attractions, including Patwon Ki Haveli and Gadisar Lake.
