Bahraich: The SWAT and surveillance team of Bahraich police has recovered 101 lost mobile phones worth approximately Rs 25 lakh.Superintendent of police Vishwajeet Srivastava on Sunday handed over the recovered mobile phones to their rightful owners during a program organized at the Police Lines auditorium. The recipients expressed their gratitude to the police for their efforts.The SP said complaints regarding missing mobile phones had been registered on the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal by residents.A recovery operation was carried out under the leadership of SWAT and surveillance in-charge Rakesh Singh. The team included sub-inspector Abhishek Singh, constables Pradeep Kushwaha, Nitin Awasthi, Anand Upadhyay, and personnel deployed on CEIR portal. The team successfully traced and recovered 101 mobile phones belonging to different brands.A total of 49 individuals received their lost mobile phones during the event. A cash reward of Rs 10,000 was announced for the officers and personnel involved in the operation.The event was attended by ASP (city) Ayush Vikram Singh, and ASP (rural) Durga Prasad Tiwari.
