NEW DELHI: Union home minister Amit Shah will on Tuesday launch the Land Port Management System (LPMS), a state-of-the-art platform that will enable end-to-end digital workflows for cargo processing and passenger movement at all land ports, on par with the systems at airports and seaports, and enable interoperable, efficient and transparent border management. LPMS is being unveiled amid PM Modi government’s enhanced focus on ‘smart’ borders that harness modern technology for efficient border management.It is designed to integrate operations across land ports into a unified system, enabling secure, real-time exchange of logistics and regulatory information. It will facilitate seamless coordination among the stakeholders, including government agencies and private operators, thereby reducing delays.
