Lucknow: A section of the fibre false ceiling collapsed in the emergency ward of SPM Civil Hospital during fire safety repair work on Tuesday, triggering panic among patients and staff.Officials said the incident occurred during inspection and repair of fire safety equipment by a contractor.Nine patients admitted at the time were shifted to other wards, and the area was vacated. A PWD team inspected the remaining ceiling structure.Medical superintendent Dr Devesh Chandra Pandey said no one was injured and an inquiry has been ordered. He said explanations will be sought from the agency carrying out the work and concerned officials.
