Lucknow: A 21-year-old woman eloped with her boyfriend, a snake catcher, after her family opposed their relationship prompting her father to file a kidnapping case against him, police said on Tuesday.Resident of PGI area, the woman and the accused were in a relationship and wanted to marry, but her family objected to the alliance, citing his lack of stable income. The man earned a living by rescuing snakes and reptiles from residential areas and institutions and did not hold a permanent job, which was the family’s main objection.Police said the man had earlier tried to secure a permanent position at a prominent medical institute but was unsuccessful. He had in Jan even climbed 150-feet tower to press his demands.Following the woman’s disappearance, her father lodged a complaint alleging she had been kidnapped by the same man with the intent of marriage. FIR was registered under BNS 87 (kidnapping and inducement of a woman to force her into marriage).SHO, PGI, Dhirendra Kumar, said multiple police teams were formed to trace the couple. “Their last location has been traced to Shahjahanpur and efforts are on to locate them,” he said.
