Lucknow: The written examination for recruitment of constables concluded across Uttar Pradesh on June 10 at 1,183 centres in all 75 districts, officials said.The test was conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board on June 8, 9 and 10, in two shifts each day. Police reported multiple instances of alleged examination-related malpractice, including impersonation, document forgery and circulation of misleading content on social media.On the final day, fresh FIRs were registered in Saharanpur, Azamgarh, Kanpur Nagar and Jhansi. In Saharanpur, a candidate at Guru Nanak Girls Inter College was found to have a biometric mismatch during verification. After scrutiny, a case was registered at Qutub Sher police station, and the candidate was arrested.In Kanpur Nagar, a candidate appearing at Lallu Prasad Inter College on Mall Road was suspected of using forged documents to sit the examination. Police registered a case at Chhawani police station and initiated legal proceedings.In Jhansi, a candidate was arrested after biometric verification allegedly showed he was appearing in place of another candidate. A case was registered at Navabad police station under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Public Examinations Act.In Azamgarh, two separate FIRs were lodged against social media users accused of posting misleading and factually incorrect videos related to the recruitment examination on Instagram. The cases were filed under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Information Technology Act.Officials said 24 criminal cases have been registered in connection with the examination so far, and 15 accused have been arrested. Investigations and legal proceedings are continuing.
