Lucknow: Aiming to enhance leadership capabilities, managerial excellence and research-driven innovation within the Indian Railways ecosystem, the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow, on Monday collaborated with the Indian Railways Institute of Transport Management (IRITM), Lucknow.Under the agreement, selected in-service Indian Railways officials will participate in IIML’s customised two-year blended MBA programme, in addition to doctoral opportunities. The collaboration will also offer short-, medium- and long-term customised Management Development Programmes (MDPs) for in-service Indian Railways officers.In addition, there will be collaborative projects of mutual benefit aimed at promoting innovation and academic excellence. As part of the agreement, knowledge-sharing of library and research repositories will be carried out.Stating that the transport sector is of critical importance to India’s growth agenda, IIML director Prof MP Gupta said, “Through this collaboration, we hope to create a strong flow of opportunities for our faculty and students to contribute to the development of solutions that support the future of India’s transport and logistics ecosystem.”Director general, IRITM, Ranjan Prakash Thakur, said, “The partnership will provide access to quality management education and research expertise to railway personnel and will create a structured framework for deeper and more meaningful collaboration, promoting excellence in the Indian Railways ecosystem.”
