Lucknow: Amid ongoing scrutiny of alleged irregularities in management of donations at the Ram Temple, Ram Shankar Yadav, popular as Tinnu Yadav, a self-acclaimed RSS worker, has denied allegations regarding his assets. In a social media post, Yadav described the accusations against him as “baseless” and said that misleading information was being spread about his financial status and ownership of land and property.“I was born in Ayodhya and have been associated with organisations linked to the Ram Janmabhoomi movement for several decades. I completed training with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh in 1988 and became actively associated with the Ram Janmabhoomi movement through the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) in 1993,” Yadav said.He said that after the Supreme Court verdict on the Ram Janmabhoomi dispute in 2019, he was assigned responsibilities related to service and administrative work connected with the temple project. On allegations that he possesses assets worth Rs 50 crore, Yadav said the claims were “incorrect and unfounded”.“The land in question was purchased through a registered sale deed in 2008, long before the construction of the Ram Temple began. A building was constructed on the land between 2015 and 2016,” he said.According to Yadav, after the 2019 Supreme Court judgment, infrastructure and engineering companies involved in the temple project required accommodation for their personnel. He claimed that his building was vacant at that time and was subsequently rented out to employees associated with companies working on the temple project. He said the rental income generated from the property constituted a legitimate source of earnings.Explaining his financial background, Yadav said that before acquiring the land, he earned income through operating auto-rickshaws and from honorariums received for organisational work associated with religious and social activities.“I saved money from my earnings and purchased land in 2008. The building was constructed years later using those resources,” he said.Yadav maintained that all his financial transactions and property acquisitions were supported by documented records. He claimed that arrangements with engineering firms occupying the property were made through discussions with project-related officials who were seeking residential accommodation for staff working in Ayodhya.Rejecting suggestions that he had amassed wealth through improper means, Yadav said the allegations lacked evidence and were being circulated without factual verification.
