Lucknow: Deputy chief minister Brajesh Pathak on Friday said generating employment and making youth self-reliant remains a top priority of govt. He added that around 45,000 beneficiaries in the state will receive financial incentives under PM’s Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana.Speaking at a programme in Lucknow for distribution of incentives, Pathak said the energy and talent of youth are key drivers of social and economic growth. He highlighted that since 2014, several initiatives have been launched to empower young people, with focus on skill development to enhance employability.“Skill development has improved capabilities and opened up opportunities in both public and private sectors. Under Mission Rozgar, large-scale recruitment has also taken place in govt services,” he said.Pathak noted that newly employed youth often face financial strain before receiving their first salary. To address this, the scheme provides initial economic support to help them manage basic expenses. He also underlined the role of Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), saying funds are now credited directly into beneficiaries’ bank accounts, ensuring transparency and eliminating intermediaries.Officials said the scheme is expected to boost employment generation and instill confidence among young job seekers across the state.
