Lucknow: Responding to CM Yogi Adityanath’s appeal to people to submit proof to the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the alleged theft of donations at Ayodhya’s Ram Temple, Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh on Friday said he had several documents highlighting alleged corruption by the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust and would hand them over to the SIT.However, he also raised concerns about the investigation, questioning how the Trust’s general secretary, Champat Rai, was given a clean chit even before the probe was concluded. He alleged that the govt was trying to cover up the scam.Displaying documents, Singh alleged that Rai purchased 14,730 sqm of land in Shahnawazpur Majha from Alok Bansal, Manish Bansal and Shivani Bansal for about Rs 55.47 crore, whereas the actual value of the land was Rs 9 crore.Singh further alleged that the Trust acquired around 3,500 biswa of agricultural land in Majha Barhata village, located very close to the Teerth Kshetra, at Rs 4.40 lakh per biswa. In contrast, he claimed that in Shahnawazpur, located much farther from the Teerth Kshetra, Rai purchased land from people known to him at Rs 47 lakh per biswa.
