NEW DELHI: A 19-year-old NEET aspirant allegedly died by suicide in Uttar Pradesh days after appearing for the NEET re-test. Police said she had been struggling with stress related to the examination.The deceased, identified as Chanchal Bharti from Chaupariya Kanchanpura village, had appeared for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) retake on June 21, PTI reported quoting the family.Police said family members found her unconscious at home while they were engaged in routine work. She was taken to a district hospital, where doctors declared her dead.Kotwali Station House Officer (SHO) Nirbhay Singh told PTI that a NEET question booklet was recovered from the spot. A handwritten message on it read: “I cannot do anything, my brother.”SHO informed that Police have seized the booklet and the suspected suicide note, and Forensic and handwriting examinations will be conducted.Chanchal’s father, a tailor, had continued to support his children’s education despite financial constraints. Family members described her as a bright student and said they had high hopes for her future.The body has been sent for postmortem, and an investigation is under way, the SHO said.
