Lucknow: Inviting global corporations and technology firms to “build the future in Uttar Pradesh”, chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday pitched the state as India’s next major hub for Global Capability Centres (GCCs), technology-led investments and advanced manufacturing, highlighting its skilled workforce, improving infrastructure and investor-friendly policies.Speaking at the Uttar Pradesh Global Growth Dialogue 2026 in Bengaluru, Yogi said: “The state aims to facilitate 40 million square feet of Grade-A office space and establish 500 GCC units by 2031.”He added that UP offers one of the country’s most competitive business environments, backed by more than 36 sector-specific policies, robust law and order, a large land bank, seamless single-window clearances and an extensive incentives framework. The pitch, in fact, appeared to have resonated with industry leaders, with UP securing investment commitments worth over Rs 50,000 crore through MoUs signed with 15 companies during the meet. The CM held interactions with senior executives from leading companies, including Google, and participated in roundtable discussions on urban infrastructure, GCCs, IT and IT-enabled services, and foreign direct investment opportunities. He urged companies to tap into the state’s rapidly expanding investment ecosystem as Uttar Pradesh pursues its goal of becoming a one-trillion-dollar economy.Officials said MoUs worth over Rs 50,000 crore were signed across sectors including commercial real estate, industrial infrastructure, technology and manufacturing. Major developers such as Horizon (Blackstone), Embassy, Raheja Mindspace REIT and Prestige announced plans for industrial and business parks in the state.Several multinational firms, including LG, Ameriprise, AON and MetLife, also announced plans to establish or expand GCC operations. TeamLease extended support for talent development, while Tablespace signalled interest in strengthening workspace infrastructure for the growing sector.
