NEST 2026 Result: The National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar, and the University of Mumbai-Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE CEBS) have announced the National Entrance Screening Test (NEST) 2026 results. The result was declared on June 24, 2026, at 4 PM through the official NEST portal.Candidates who appeared for the examination can access their result by logging in with their application number or user ID and password. The authorities have also confirmed that the NEST 2026 scorecard will be made available for download on June 30 at 2 PM through the official website, nestexam.in.How candidates can access the resultTo check the NEST 2026 result, candidates need to visit the official website and click on the login link. After entering the required credentials, including the application number or user ID and password, candidates can view their result online. The scorecard download link will be activated on the portal on June 30.Basis of NEST result preparationThe NEST result is prepared using the scores obtained in the best-performing sections among Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology. The examination authority considers these section-wise performances while calculating the final result for candidates.Admission process after the resultFollowing the declaration of results, NISER and CEBS will announce the NEST 2026 counselling schedule online. Candidates who qualify in the examination will be eligible to participate in the counselling process.The institutions will also publish a merit list. Candidates whose names appear in the merit list will be required to report to their respective campuses to complete admission-related formalities.Section-wise minimum admissible scores releasedThe Section-wise Minimum Admissible Score (SAMS) has been published for all categories. In Biology, the SAMS stands at 8.83 for UR, 7.95 for OBC and 4.41 for SC/ST candidates. In Chemistry, the corresponding scores are 11.26, 10.14 and 5.63.For Mathematics, the minimum admissible scores are 9.63 for UR, 8.67 for OBC and 4.82 for SC/ST categories. In Physics, the SAMS is 9.44 for UR, 8.49 for OBC and 4.72 for SC/ST candidates. Separate admissible scores have also been specified for Divyang candidates across categories.Expected marks and rank range for ST categoryAccording to the expected marks-versus-rank data for the ST category, candidates scoring between 120 and 80 marks may secure ranks between 1 and 10. Those obtaining scores between 80 and 65 marks are expected to fall within the rank range of 11 to 50.
