New Delhi: Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation has imposed a Rs 1 lakh penalty and slapped a show-cause notice for termination of the licence of a food vendor after a passenger alleged a fly was found in the veg biryani served on Tejas Express.Officials said he was attended to immediately by the train captain and the catering manager. The staff apologised and the food was replaced.According to officials. the vendor has been instructed to ensure procurement of fresh raw materials with adequate shelf life and to verify the quality of all ingredients. tnn
