For many internet users, Kirti Chowdhury is the face behind the YouTube channel KirtiChow, where he shares humorous and relatable videos with over 1.29 million subscribers. But behind the camera, he was working towards another goal.Kirti has secured All India Rank (AIR) 760 in the UPSC Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2025. According to APTI PLUS Academy, he is from Howrah, West Bengal, and completed his B.Com (Honours) in Accounts and Economics from Utkal University, Bhubaneswar.His UPSC journey was not a one-time success. He appeared for the examination four times. He cleared the Preliminary examination in 2022, 2023 and 2024, reached the Mains stage in 2023 and 2025, and finally cleared all three stages, Prelims, Mains and Interview, in UPSC CSE 2025, the result of which was declared this year.Instead of choosing an optional subject linked to his commerce background, Kirti opted for Philosophy. He believed that genuine interest in a subject was more important than following popular trends. During his preparation, he focused on regular revision, answer-writing practice and mock tests.Away from studies, Kirti continued pursuing his interests. His hobbies include caricature art and strength training, which he has described as activities that helped him stay creative, disciplined and mentally refreshed during preparation.His social media presence also reflects his views on self-improvement. In one Instagram post, Kirti wrote, “Don’t ever be ashamed of your background, in denial of your roots.”He added, “It’s ok to travel by public transports, not attending parties, wearing a shirt till it gets worn out, not having the latest, expensive gadgets as long as you have that burning desire inside you to be a self made person instead of milking out your parents and being ashamed of admitting & accepting your financial condition.”His YouTube channel describes itself as a space for “Relatable & Wholesome content with my lame sense of humor.” Among his popular uploads are videos such as The Cat that proved Astrology is Fake! and My Childhood Opinions that should be Illegal!. His last video on the channel was uploaded in December 2025.
