Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Ltd (UPPCL) has said that 89.67 lakh smart meters have been installed across its distribution companies under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS).According to the corporation, postpaid electricity bills for June 2026 have been generated for 86.26 lakh smart meter consumers.Of the remaining consumers, around 45,000 are new electricity connection holders whose first bills are scheduled to be issued in July 2026.UPPCL also said that billing data could not be retrieved for about 2.96 lakh smart meter consumers due to communication or other technical issues. Bills for these consumers are also being sent through SMS and WhatsApp.The corporation said consumers whose bill due date is June 29, 2026, should download their bills and make payments by the due date to avoid late payment charges.
