NEW DELHI: Five pharmacists and two officials were suspended with immediate effect after an enquiry found serious irregularities in the functioning of stores of the Central Procurement Agency (CPA), Delhi chief minister’s office said on Saturday.According to Rekha Gupta’s office, the action was taken after an enquiry substantiated allegations of lapses in the procurement, storage and management of medicines at the agency’s stores.Gupta said that her government follows a “zero tolerance” policy towards corruption.Suspensions of the seven persons will take effect immediately, the statement said.
