Lucknow: On Wednesday, chief minister Yogi Adityanath made his fifth visit to communally sensitive and politically crucial Saharanpur in as many months.Govt made it a point to highlight this fact, adding that the CM was working to pull Saharanpur out of the neglect which the previous govt had subjected it to.“The head of the previous govt visited Saharanpur only once or twice in five years, whereas Yogi Adityanath reached Saharanpur five times in five months and highlighted its importance. Over these five months, the CM has accelerated various development projects here,” a govt spokesperson said.On Wednesday, the CM launched the second phase of the School Chalo Abhiyan, and inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for development schemes worth over Rs 613 crore. Among the new projects started in Saharanpur this year is a sports college.CM’s visits to SaharanpurMarch 14: Visited Shakumbhari Mata Mandir and Baba Bhooradev Mandir. Provided the benefits of various public welfare schemes to over 1,600 beneficiaries.June 1: Visited Maa Shakumbhari Devi Siddhpeeth and toured flood-affected areas. Held a review meeting.July 1: Launched the School Chalo Abhiyan and inaugurated/laid the foundation stone of projects worth more than Rs 613 crore. Distributed certificates to beneficiaries of various schemes.
