Lucknow: Hundreds of political and social workers joined the Jansatta Party of India (JPI) during the meeting, saying they were impressed by the party’s policies and programmes.Welcoming the new members, the party’s national president, Shashank Shekhar Singh Pushkar, said that the people of the state wanted a political alternative, as instead of addressing the public’s fundamental issues, political parties were seeking votes on caste-based agendas.“Casteism, capitalism and dynasty politics dominate every party. They are merely doing business in the name of caste and religion,” Shashank said.He further said that the JPI would contest the Assembly elections strongly and claimed that, for the first time, Uttar Pradesh would have a youth-led govt committed to serving the people in the true spirit of public service through public power.
