Lucknow: To track key aspects of students’ lives, physical activity, diet and nutrition, mental wellness, sleep patterns and social behaviour, Lucknow University has introduced a health card system for its hostel inmates. The health cards will also maintain records of students’ allergies, existing medical conditions and overall lifestyle habits. This structured monitoring is expected to help in early identification of health concerns and ensure timely support.“To strengthen the system, 60 professional counsellors—comprising alumni of the university’s psychology department and PhD scholars—will be deployed across 18 hostels. They will regularly interact with students, provide guidance and work in coordination with hostel provosts. A dedicated grievance portal has been established to address student concerns efficiently,” said, Amita Kannaujia, dean students’ welfare, adding that it will also facilitate better interaction between students, doctors and mental health counsellors at Aarogya Bhawan.
