NEW DELHI: Rajya Sabha MP Ashok Kumar Mittal introduced the National Commission for Men Bill, 2025 in Parliament, saying the recent Pune Ketan Agarwal case highlighted the need for institutional support and legal protection for male victims. In a post on X, the former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP described the case as “deeply disturbing” and called for a fair and impartial investigation.“Pune Ketan Agarwal case is deeply disturbing. Ketan and his family deserve a fair, thorough, and impartial investigation, and above all, justice. I introduced the National Commission for Men Bill in Parliament. Every victim deserves justice, support, and equal protection under the law,” he said.“The Ketan case is a reminder that men, too, can be victims. They deserve institutional support, legal protection, and a platform where their voices are heard. Justice must be equal for everyone, irrespective of gender,” he added. The Siya-Ketan case relates to the death of 25-year-old realtor Ketan Agarwal, who died after falling from a cliff at Lohagad Fort near Pune on June 18. Initially treated as an accidental death, the case was later converted into a murder investigation. Police arrested Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary, alleging they conspired to push Agarwal off the cliff. Investigators have cited recovered deleted phone data and alleged coded conversations as key evidence. On Friday, a court sent the two accused to 14-day judicial custody after they refused to undergo polygraph tests, observing that such tests cannot be conducted without the accused’s consent.
