NEW DELHI: As the dates for the monsoon session were announced, Congress general secretary in charge of communications Jairam Ramesh slammed the BJP, accusing it of splitting parties. He claimed the govt would still fail to secure a two-thirds majority.“We are going into this monsoon session knowing that they will bring back the delimitation bill. They might also bring ‘One Nation, One Election’….,” Ramesh said while speaking to ANI. While noting that the split in TMC and Shiv Sena (UBT) has been a worrisome development for the opposition, Ramesh asserted “but we will not let them have a two-thirds majority”.“Their real motive is to change the Constitution of India… The purpose of crossing 400 seats was to be in a position to change the Constitution,” he said, recalling the BJP’s ‘Ab ki Baar, 400 Paar’ slogan in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, in which the BJP fell short of the majority mark of 272 on its own.“Despite many efforts, they didn’t get a two-thirds majority… They’re splitting parties. But they’re not going to get a two-thirds majority… they will not succeed,” Ramesh claimed.
