Planning a bank visit? You might need to reschedule as banks across some parts of the country will remain closed on Monday. Knowing bank holidays in advance can help you to avoid an unnecessary trip, especially if you have time-sensitive branch work such as submitting documents, processing cheques or completing other in-person banking transactions. Today, on July 6, banks will remain closed in West Bengal and Mizoram, on account of the Birth Anniversary of Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee and for MHIP Day, as per the state-specific holiday calendar notified by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).Upcoming holidays in July:July will see several more state-wise bank holidays under the RBI’s holiday calendar. Banks in Meghalaya will remain closed on July 9 for Beh Deinkhlam. On July 16, branches will be shut in Odisha for Ratha Yatra (Rathajatra), while Uttarakhand will observe Harela and Manipur will also have a bank holiday the same day.A day later, on July 17, banks in Meghalaya will remain closed to mark the Death Anniversary of U Tirot Sing. Sikkim will observe a bank holiday on July 18 for Drukpa Tshe-zi, followed by Tripura on July 22 for Kharchi Puja.Besides these regional holidays, bank branches across India will also remain closed on the regular weekly offs: July 5, 12, 19 and 26 (Sundays), and on July 11 and July 25, which fall on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month.The closure is limited to these states, with banking operations continuing as usual in the rest of the country. Customers can also continue using digital banking channels such as UPI, internet banking, mobile banking and ATMs, which are expected to remain functional despite the branch closures.
