LUCKNOW: Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Monday threatened legal action against BJP MP Nishikant Dubey over a social media post concerning Ramshankar alias Tinnu Yadav, an accused in the Ayodhya donation case.In a post on X, Akhilesh Yadav said a police complaint would be filed if Dubey did not immediately delete the “false” post, news agency PTI reported.“Just as a ruling party MP enjoys parliamentary privileges, an opposition MP enjoys the same privileges. Respecting the dignity of Lord Ram, social decorum, civility and parliamentary traditions, we give the BJP MP 10 minutes to delete this false post. Otherwise, an FIR will be lodged against him immediately,” he said in a post tagging Dubey. He also warned others who had circulated similar allegations on social media to remove the posts and issue a public apology or “be prepared for legal action”.“They should remember that BJP leaders do not stand by anyone. When they have to make rounds of courts for years, none of their associates will come to their rescue. Those who were not true to God cannot be true to people,” he said.SP chief alleged that the BJP and its supporters were spreading “malicious lies” to defame the party’s PDA (Pichhda, Dalit and Alpsankhyak) social coalition, PTI reported. He further alleged that a “gang of donation thieves” was hiding due to fear of public anger and conspiring against the opposition. He appealed to “Ram devotees across the world, followers of Sanatan Dharma, saints of Ayodhya, the Supreme Court of India, Speaker of the Lok Sabha, citizens of Uttar Pradesh and Ayodhya, and members of the PDA community” to take cognisance of the matter.According to police sources, Ramshankar Yadav, also known as Tinnu Yadav, is one of the main figures in the alleged donation theft conspiracy. He was initially appointed as the personal driver of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust general secretary Champat Rai and later became a trusted aide linked to temple administration and VIP management.Police alleged that he had unauthorised access to the keys of the donation-counting room and donation boxes, allowing manipulation of the counting process.(With agency inputs)
