NEW DELHI: Lok Sabha leader of opposition Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday alleged fresh irregularities in last week’s UGC-NET examination, claiming that a document linked to the question paper was circulated before the test and matched a large number of questions asked in the Sociology paper. He also accused the Centre of failing to act despite repeated allegations of examination paper leaks. In a post on X, Rahul claimed that a 100-page PDF was circulated before the UGC-NET examination and alleged that it related to question paper setting material available only with the National Testing Agency (NTA). He further alleged that nearly 90 questions in the PDF matched those in the actual Sociology question paper and claimed the paper was being sold for Rs 2.25 lakh in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi and Rajasthan. He also alleged that the same network had claimed to provide question papers for upcoming examinations, including CSIR-NET, HTET and ADA.Listing the allegations that have surfaced over the examination, Rahul wrote:“The serious allegations that have surfaced regarding last week’s UGC-NET exam are utterly shocking.Just a few weeks after the NEET paper leak, reports are now emerging that –A 100-page PDF was circulated right before the UGC-NET exam. This PDF pertains to the question paper setting, which is available only with the NTA.Nearly 90 questions in the PDF match those from the actual Sociology question paper. The same question paper was being sold for Rs 2.25 lakh in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi, and Rajasthan. The same network has also claimed to provide question papers for upcoming exams like CSIR-NET, HTET, and ADA.”Questioning the government’s response to the alleged examination leaks, Rahul said students were being denied accountability and justice.“Even after the repeated scams in NEET and NET, the Modi government continues to turn a blind eye and sleep soundly, because the years of hard work put in by lakhs of students—burning the midnight oil—holds no value for them. The entire country knows that expecting any accountability or action from the Prime Minister and the Education Minister is futile—no investigation will happen, nor will students get justice. The only tool for change is our collective voice—the resounding echo of students across the country, which will bring about an education revolution in India.”
