Lucknow: At a meeting with divisional commissioners and district magistrates on Wednesday, chief secretary SP Goyal said that 35 crore saplings are to be planted across the state under Vriksharopan Mahayagya-2026 on July 12, for which all preparations need to be completed before time.“Participation of school students should be prioritised. All departments should ensure geo-tagging of plantation sites and planted saplings. Every govt officer and employee should plant at least one sapling and take a pledge for its safety and conservation,” Goyal said. While reviewing the zero poverty campaign, Goyal expressed dissatisfaction with the coverage of beneficiaries under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. He said that all eligible farmers should be covered under the scheme on a priority basis and that 100% of selected families should be covered under all basic schemes.
