Lucknow: Lucknow Super Giants left-arm pacer Mohsin Khan has decided to enter the UPT20 League mini-auction to be held in Agra on July 24, skipping the option of retention by Kanpur Superstars.Mohsin, one of the most sought-after fast bowlers from Uttar Pradesh, claimed 11 wickets in seven matches during the recent IPL season.Mohsin has spent the last two seasons with Kanpur Superstars. He was retained by the franchise last year but missed the entire campaign due to fitness issues.In the 2024 edition of the UPT20 League, Mohsin played a key role in Kanpur Superstars’ run to the final, taking 15 wickets in 11 matches at an economy rate of 6.94.According to sources, Kanpur Superstars were most likely to retain Sameer Rizvi, Adarsh Singh, Shubh, Aaqib Khan, Pankaj, Vineet Panwar and Mohsin Khan. However, the pacer has informed the franchise that he would test his value at the auction.Talking to TOI, Mohsin said, “This year, I will go for the auction. I want to explore and go with the flow. I am fit for action.”Mohsin has seen several injury setbacks, including a layoff for 14-15 months. He made a strong comeback in the IPL, dedicating his return to his late mother.He marked his comeback by taking a wicket in his first over of the season and soon established himself as a powerplay option for LSG.In April 2026, he also became the first bowler to bowl three maiden overs in a single season for the franchise.
