NEW DELHI: Climate activist Sonam Wangchuk has called for a peaceful march to Parliament on July 20, coinciding with the start of the Monsoon Session, urging people to join him.In a post on X, Wangchuk said appeals asking him to end his hunger strike would not address the larger issues he is protesting. “Thanks for all your messages to break my Hunger Strike, but that wouldn’t help the 20 students who committed suicide nor will that help protect the mountains of Ladakh or the rivers of India,” he wrote.‘Do a little more than messages from comfy couches’The engineer-turned-environmentalist urged supporters to travel to Delhi and gather at Jantar Mantar on July 20 before marching peacefully towards Parliament.“If you really want to help, then do a little more than messages from comfy couches. Come to Delhi and to Jantar Mantar on 20th July… Together we’ll start a very peaceful march to the Sansad and appeal to our honourable MPs to take the issue up and find a lasting solution,” he said.‘Hunger strike enters day 12’With CJP’s protest entering it’s day 20 of protest demanding the resignation of Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Sonam Wangchuk’s hunger strike has entered day 12.As per the latest update of hunger strike day 11 on Cockroach Janta Party X account, Sonam Wangchuk has lost more than 7 kg of weight and his blood pressure was measured 103/68.
