The State Examination Board, Gujarat has released the detailed syllabus for the Teacher Aptitude Test (Higher Secondary) – 2026 on its official website. The syllabus was published on February 19, 2026, providing subject-wise details for candidates preparing for the recruitment examination.Along with the syllabus, the board has provided a list of reduced chapters and topics for the relevant subjects. The changes have been made as per the guidelines of the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board. The candidates can download both the documents in PDF format from the official links provided.SEB releases TAT-HS 2026 syllabus and reduced chapters listApplication process for final year candidatesThe board has provided specific guidelines for candidates who are currently in the final year of their training qualification in the academic year 2025-26. While filling out the application form, candidates need to choose the option stating that they are in the final year of training under the “More Education” option.They need to fill out their percentage as “0”, choose the class option as “Not Applicable”, and provide the passing year as 2026.Examination schedule and application windowThe Teacher Aptitude Test (Higher Secondary) is held every year to shortlist candidates for teaching posts in registered government and private higher secondary schools in Gujarat. The recruitment exercise is currently being conducted as per Notification No. SEB/TAT-HS/2026/2042-2082.The online application procedure started on February 10, 2026, and ended on February 19, 2026, on the official OJAS website. The final date for payment of fees was February 20, 2026.The Preliminary Test will be held on March 29, 2026. Successful candidates will then sit for the Main Test, which is scheduled tentatively for May 2026.Eligibility, Fees, and Selection ProcedureApplicants must have qualifications as prescribed by the Government of Gujarat for higher secondary teachers. Final-year postgraduate and B.Ed. students for the 2025-26 academic year were also eligible to apply, provided they could submit the necessary proof before the selection procedure.The examination fee is Rs 500 for General category candidates and Rs 400 for SC, ST, SEBC, EWS, and PH categories. The fee is paid online and is non-refundable.The selection procedure has two steps. The preliminary examination is an MCQ examination with negative marking for 200 marks, comprising General Studies and a special subject. Candidates who clear the cut-off will be selected for the descriptive Main examination for 200 marks. Candidates who clear the examination will be included in the merit list for eligibility.
