For years, Govinda has won over fans with his flawless acting skills and unbeatable comic flair. Now, the spotlight is set to shift as his family enters the film industry his wife, Sunita Ahuja, and son, Yash Ahuja, are gearing up for their big Bollywood debut. Adding to the buzz, the two will be introduced on screen through a project produced by the well-known Ektaa Kapoor.
Sunita Ahuja confirms September release
In a conversation with ANI, Sunita opened up about the upcoming film, confirming a September release this year. She added that she will be seen essaying the role of Yash’s mother in the movie. “Main Yash ke saath picture kar rahi hoon. September mein picture release hogi. Main Ektaa Kapoor ko bahut pyaar karti hoon. Unki wajah se maine Netflix ka show kiya, aur main unse bahut pyaar karti hoon. Woh bhi mujhe bahut pyaar karti hain. Yash ki picture mein main uski maa ka hi role kar rahi hoon… Shayad industry mein pehli baar aisa hoga ki maa aur beta ek saath launch ho rahe hain. (I’m working on a film with Yash, which is slated to release in September. I have immense love and respect for Ekta Kapoor. It was because of her that I did a Netflix show, and we share a wonderful bond. In Yash’s film, I’m playing his mother. Perhaps I think it’s the first time in the industry that a mother and son are being launched together),” she shared.

Sunita also had a heartfelt request for everyone to extend the same love and blessings to her son. “Main bas itna kehna chahti hoon ki aap sab mere bete Yash ko bhi wahi pyaar aur aashirwad dijiye jo aapne hamesha mujhe diya hai,” (“I just want to say that all of you please give my son Yash the same love and blessings that you have always given me.”) she said.

Interestingly, Tina, daughter of Sunita and Govinda, has already had a taste of acting herself. She entered Bollywood with her 2015 debut film, Second Hand Husband.

Meanwhile, Sunita made her recent appearance on Netflix’s reality show ‘Lock Upp: Sach ya Sazaa’, where she developed strong friendships with fellow contestants, particularly with actor Ram Kapoor.
