Lucknow: Gomti Nagar police have registered an FIR against the unidentified driver of an SUV for allegedly ramming into the official car of a Barabanki family court judge at Lohia crossing before attempting to run over the traffic constable who tried to stop him.The FIR was lodged on Saturday on the complaint of Santosh Gupta, the driver of Principal Judge (Family Court), Barabanki, Krishna Kumar. The case has been registered under Sections 281 (rash driving) and 324(4) of the BNS.According to the complaint, the incident took place around 6.45 pm on Friday when Gupta was driving the judge, his wife and children from Kaiserbagh towards Barabanki. As the vehicle stopped at a red light near Lohia crossing, a speeding Thar allegedly crashed into it from behind, causing substantial damage to the car and jolting its occupants.The complainant alleged that after the collision, the judge and his wife alerted the traffic constable posted at the crossing. However, when the constable attempted to intercept the SUV, the driver allegedly drove the vehicle towards him and sped away from the spot. The traffic constable managed to photograph the vehicle, which bore registration number UP62 DK 1200, the FIR states.
