Lucknow: Annual home exams for students of classes 1-8 enrolled in govt and govt-aided schools in UP will be held from Mar 16 to Mar 20. Basic education director Pratap Singh Baghel said there would be oral exams for class 1 students and oral and written exams for classes 2-5. For classes 2-3, equal weightage will be for written and oral exams, while for classes 4-5, 70% marks will be for written and 30% for oral exam. The exams will be from 9.30-11.30 am and from 12.30-2.30 pm.Students of classes 6-8 will undergo only written exam. Annual exams will carry 50 marks and comprise multiple-choice questions (10 marks), very short questions (10 marks), short questions (20 marks) and long-answer questions (10 marks). Students of classes 2-3 will answer very short questions in one word, short questions in 10 words and long questions in 20 words.For classes 4-5, very short, short and long questions are to be answered in one, 25 and 40 words, respectively, while classes 6-8 students will answer, very short, short and long questions in one, 35 and 75 words, respectively. tnnBaghel asked District Institute of Education and Training to prepare question papers on the lines of private schools. Report cards will be distributed on Mar 30.
