Lucknow: Public health initiatives, digital innovation and academic achievements will feature at the 30th convocation of Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS) on Tuesday.Governor Anandiben Patel, who will preside over the ceremony as the institute’s Visitor, will present an HPV vaccination certificate to the Bahraich district administration and distribute utility kits to five Anganwadi workers. Primary school textbooks will also be handed over to local educators.Governor will also launch the integration of SGPGIMS degrees with DigiLocker, enabling secure access to digital academic records. The degrees include security features to prevent forgery.279 degrees will be awarded across PhD, DM, MCh, MD, MS, PDCC, PDAF, nursing, technical and hospital administration programmes.Director Prof Radha K Dhiman said the graduating batch reflected the institute’s contribution to super-speciality medical education, research, nursing and allied health sciences.The institute will honour 13 faculty members, researchers and students with institutional awards during the convocation.Prof Narayan Prasad, head of the nephrology department, will receive the Governor’s gold medal for best faculty. The award is being conferred for the first time.
