Lucknow: Defence minister and Lucknow MP Rajnath Singh on Monday lauded the development vision of chief minister Yogi Adityanath and said that he has been proactively approving projects to improve ease of living and the state is making exemplary progress in every field.Praising the Yogi Adityanath govt, he said, “The CM has been proactively approving the projects that have been conceptualised to improve the ease of living of the city. He has approved projects at the request of the city mayor as well as my local representative without my intervention.”“The way he is developing the state is exemplary. Today, Uttar Pradesh is creating new dimensions of development. Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Minister and the leadership of the CM, Uttar Pradesh is making extraordinary progress in every field,” Singh said.Speaking during the launch of the Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway, Singh said that people would be able to travel in less time in a comfortable and safe manner.“These projects will prove to be unprecedented not only for Lucknow, Kanpur and Hardoi but also for the people of the entire Uttar Pradesh,” he said.Praising Gadkari for completing the construction of these projects in record time, he said, “The way he has laid a network of next-generation infrastructure across the country is appreciated all over the world. I am confident that Uttar Pradesh and Lucknow will continue to benefit from his experience, vision and efficiency in the future. If willpower is strong, no goal is impossible.”On Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway, Rajnath said that both the cities were of historical importance and were also important nodes of the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor.“The integration centre of the BrahMos missile, which showed its prowess during Operation Sindoor, is in Lucknow. DRDO labs are in Lucknow. Kanpur has a long-standing historical legacy of defence production, which will gain strength through this Defence Industrial Corridor,” the defence minister said.“While we have already started manufacturing BrahMos missile from Lucknow, in the days to come, prominent defence manufacturing companies from various parts of the globe will also set units in Uttar Pradesh,” he said.“Where roads reach, prosperity reaches; where connectivity reaches, investment reaches; and where investment reaches, new doors of employment open for the youth,” Singh said.“The govt’s intention is that every hand should get work and every home should have prosperity. Earlier, youth had to go outside the state for jobs. Now many opportunities are being created for them within their own state,” he added.Singh and Gadkari jointly said that a new elevated corridor would be developed over the 23-km long Shaheed Path to decongest the city.Singh said that the road ministry should also examine whether a metro corridor (rapid rail or mass transit system) could also be developed over or along the Shaheed Path to provide increased options to commuters.Singh said that people would be able to commute between Lucknow and Sitapur seamlessly in the coming years as the existing corridor would be widened into a six-lane road.“Similarly, a service lane will be developed along both the ends of Kisan Path between Lucknow-Ayodhya national highway and Lucknow-Sultanpur national highway,” he said.“I am happy to share that two projects out of three have already been sanctioned and work on them will being soon. I appeal to my counterpart (Gadkari) to improve the linkages through important road corridors in the city so that residents can commute without facing traffic snarls,” Singh said. The Lucknow MP said he was confident that in the coming decade, Uttar Pradesh would not only be India’s most populous state but would also become India’s greatest economic power.
