Lucknow: The newly built Lucknow Museum of Heritage and Art in Hussainabad will be inaugurated on Mar 1 and will be open to the public on the same day. The museum presents Awadh’s historical, literary, and cultural heritage using modern technology.The project, developed by the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) at Rs 41.43 crore, spreads over 4,973 square metres. The museum features a 45-metre-long cantilever constructed without any supporting column or pillar, making it the first such iconic building of its kind in the state.Thematic galleries such as Mool Dhara, Hunar Ka Safar, Hastshilp, Sanjhi Aastha, Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb, Karigari, Mehfil-e-Awadh, Nrityakala, Natyashala, Soch Evam Samvad, and Zaayka-e-Awadh aim to offer an immersive experience.A virtual reality gaming arena has also been developed to connect visitors, especially the younger generation, with history in an interactive way.LDA vice-chairman Prathamesh Kumar said the museum has been built in line with the govt’s vision to promote tourism in the city.“The museum will preserve the city’s rich heritage, art, and craft traditions while connecting them with the new generation. It will also encourage local artisans and handicrafts, strengthening the regional economy,” he said.LDA secretary Vivek Srivastava, nazul officer Prabhakar Singh, chief engineer Manvendra Singh, and other officials and engineers were present during the inspection.
