NEW DELHI: Trinamool Congress MP Kalyan Banerjee was suspended from Lok Sabha on Wednesday for using unparliamentary language against a women member of the House.This comes after Kalyan Banerjee engaged in a heated verbal exchange with hid former party colleagues and NCPI MPs in the Lok Sabha chamber.The Nationalist Citizens Party of India (NCPI) members involved in the exchange included Mitali Bagh, Shatabdi Roy and Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar. Kalyan Banerjee has remained loyal to TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee.It was not clear what led to the heated exchange.Later, Bagh, Dastidar and some other NCPI members went to meet Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla in his chamber apparently to raise the issue, news agency PTI reported, citing sources.As many as 20 TMC MPs revolted against the party leadership after the party’s defeat in the West Bengal assembly elections and joined the NCPI. They started sitting separately, away from the TMC MPs in the Lok Sabha.
